Empowering Parents & Carers

SEND Reforms

On Monday 24th February 2026 The government released the schools white paper: Every Child Achieving and Thriving.  This is available in a variety of formats on the gov uk website.

On their education hub blog they summarised this white paper for parents and carers.  These links may change over time as the government publishes future media releases.  You can access the latest updates on all issues relating to education in the main blog here.

This was picked up in the days before as news of the paper was leaked, with lots of worrying headlines across newspapers, social media and others working in this area.

At Warrington Parents and Carers, our aim is to provide our membership with reliable news and update on progress as the consultation progresses.

We will be working with our parents, carers and professional partners throughout the process and will be posting to our own social media on Facebook and Instragram with latest updates.  We will also updating our events page with any meetings that we book in to discuss the reforms.

WarrPAC is part of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums where we feed up your views to amplify the voice of parent carers.

"Contact" information and advice service have also published guidance on the white paper and the steps involved.

We will be here to support our children, families, and settings every step of the way.

Whatever the outcome of the reforms, WarrPAC remain committed to:

  • Working collaboratively with our key partners across education, health, and care
  • Listening to the voices of children, young people, and their families
  • Championing inclusive practice
  • Doing everything in our power to help every child get the support they need to thrive

We will update the information on our website regularly as things progress - if you spot any issues with this page, or you have any suggestions please email us here.
